North American Copper in Architecture Award Recipient

Copper dome

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a North American Copper in Architecture Award for our work on the Kansas Statehouse! The scope of work included a copper dome and full roof replacement

"On behalf of the copper industry, the Copper Development Association Inc. (CDA) and the Canadian Copper and Brass Development Association (CCBDA) would like to congratulate and thank you for your submission to the sixth annual North American Copper in Architecture awards program. We are delighted to inform you that your project, the Kansas Statehouse Copper Dome & Roof Replacement, was one of only 14 selected as a 2014 recipient.

We sincerely believe that as architects and contractors, you share with us a keen appreciation of the enduring properties of copper that make a highly-desirable material with which to work, not only for those who design and build residential and commercial structures, but also for those who are engaged in historic restoration projects.

The program’s goal is to identify those projects that have succeeded in blending the various elements of copper use in a particular structure: design, installation and innovation. With that said, the task of recognizing only a few projects form a field of many solid entrants was difficult, as each project was meritorious in its own right."
