Baker's Half Dozen
The Asheville mountains are a known tourist destination in North Carolina and many of our employees are lucky enough to both work and live in these scenic mountains. Known for its boho shops and restaurants, Asheville has an unnamable number of notable spots. We asked some of our Asheville team for their favorite spots, so we will share a few of those below.
- White Duck Taco Shop – This taco shop has numerous locations one of which is in Asheville. While the menu is limited, the chefs make an effort to ensure each item on the menu is flavorful and tasteful. The jerk chicken tacos are the most popular among our employees. After visiting a location let us know what your favorite item on the menu is.
- Biscuit Head – This is a biscuit shop in West Asheville. They are best known for their many flavors of homemade jams. We love supporting biscuit head as it is a family operated business just like we are. We share a commitment to serving the people of this state which gives us common ground. Try biscuit heads and make sure to order one with their homemade jam!!
- Hooker Falls – This is a known spot for Swimming and hiking. The 14 foot waterfall is breathtaking. While the water is chilly, it feels good on very hot days. Many people often have picnics with family and friends on the rocks near the waterfall.
- Highland Brewing – A good brewery is in an important piece of any city. The brewery is one of our favorites due the unique variety of beers and inviting atmosphere. The brewery is also a great spot for parties as it can be rented out for private events.
- Rhubarb – This is a restaurant that serves contemporary Asheville cuisine. The food is very reasonably priced and takes a unique spin on the Asheville culture serving snacks such as rosemary sea salt almonds. Make a reservation at the restaurant if possible, this is a popular spot.
- French Broad Chocolates – This is a bakery that serves chocolate made with local and organic ingredients. The bakery provides chocolate for the average daily customer along with custom chocolates for weddings and other large events. Try French Bread Chocolates and tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
