What were you doing before you joined the Baker team?
I joined Baker Roofing in April 2021. Directly before I worked in event and project management and I also have extensive experience in the hospitality industry managing teams and operations. Immediately after graduating college I spent five years in California with the NPS constructing hiking trails.
Tell us about someone you enjoy working with at BRC Asheville!
One of the main reasons I love my job is our close-knit team here in Asheville, led by our Department Head Bill Raper. Bill brings extensive knowledge and empowering leadership that fosters an atmosphere of camaraderie and excellence. I learn something new from him (about roofing or life-in-general) almost everyday.
How do you think you have impacted your Baker office since joining?
The desire to compassionately serve our customers and community is what drives my energy. I love meeting people, listening to them, and designing solutions and I would hope that energy is palpable within our office.
Do you think Baker has had an impact on the Asheville community?
I like to think of Baker Roofing as a construction firm that builds community: because when the Home is protected by our workmanship, then the Family can enjoy life with peace of mind and focus on the things that matter most to them. That creates a ripple effect of positivity to their neighbors, and I consider everyone in the Asheville market our neighbors.
What are you favorite things about Asheville? Can you share some of your must-visit spots?
Where to begin? The access to nature is world class. I mountain bike regularly and we hike as a family almost every weekend. The live music and food scenes also fill our cup: Salvage Station and the Grey Eagle for music; Thai Pearl and Bull & Beggar for food are some of our favorites. (And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention all the great food grown nearby by hard working folk that we find at the many farmers markets!) Life is abundant here in the mountains!
