The State Archives of North Carolina building, located downtown Raleigh, NC, chose to install a waterproofing and vegetative roofing system in order to protect the archives of North Carolina that reside below the garden roof plaza. Besides being aesthetically pleasing, a green roof can provide numerous ecological, technical and owner benefits. Owner incentives include: increased life expectancy of the roof, additional usable space, create a therapeutic environment, government financial incentives and contribution toward LEED points.
