100% EMPLOYEE-OWNED
The people on your roof built this company. Now they own it.
Baker Roofing has always been about people, the ones who show up every day, do the work right, and take pride in what they leave behind. For over 110 years, that’s who built this company. As of 2025, it’s officially theirs.
Some companies talk about culture. Ours shows up in the tenure.
When people stay it means something.
We have employees who’ve spent decades at Baker Roofing, foremen who started as helpers, project managers who came up through the field, and office staff who’ve watched this company grow from one office in Raleigh, NC, to offices throughout the Mid-Atlantic & Eastern US. That kind of tenure doesn’t happen by accident.
It starts with the Baker family. W.P. Baker founded this company in 1915. Generations later, his grandsons Prentiss and Frank Baker came into the business and carried that same mindset forward, not through acquisitions or shortcuts, but by building relationships and earning trust in every market they entered. That family approach to business became the culture of this company. And it’s why the people here tend to stay
In July 2025, Baker Roofing became 100% employee-owned.
Here’s what that actually means.
It’s not a benefit. It’s a different way of working.
Employee ownership means every person at Baker Roofing, from the field crew to the team managing your account, holds a real stake in how the company performs. When the company does well, every employee shares in that. When the work is done right, every employee benefits.
That changes things. It changes how people show up in the morning. How carefully they work. How personally they take the quality of what they leave behind. You can’t manufacture that kind of accountability. But you can build a structure that creates it, and that’s exactly what employee ownership does.
In an industry being consolidated by private equity, we went the other direction. We kept Baker Roofing independent, kept it in the hands of the people who built it, and made sure it stays that way for the long term.

The person on your roof isn’t just an employee. They’re an owner.
That’s not a talking point. It changes how the work gets done.
Most of our employee-owners work in the field. They’re the ones on your roof every day, the crew members, foremen, and project managers who trained through Baker Academy and wear this company’s name on their uniform. They’re not temporary. They’re Baker Roofing employees who have been developed to our standards and who now own a piece of what they’re building.
When someone owns the outcome, they sweat the details differently. They double-check their work. They don’t leave until it’s right. They know their name is attached to every job, and now, so is their equity.
- Every crew member is trained through Baker Academy before they’re on your roof
- Uniformed, professional teams representing the same standard at every location
- All field service crews are Baker Roofing employees: no subcontractors, no unknowns
- Before-and-after documentation on every project for full accountability
