Working with general contractor McDonald York, our team handled the roofing upfit for a new condensing unit stand. We removed roofing down to the deck at each support location, flashed in four support posts, and added tapered crickets where needed to keep water moving around the larger curbs. Pipe boot flashings at both lineset penetrations completed the fit-up.
When a general contractor brings in new mechanical equipment, the roofing details have to be right the first time. Properly flashed posts and tapered crickets keep water moving off the roof instead of pooling around the new stand, protecting both the equipment and the building below.
